We’re on the hunt for a Compound Operations Manager to lead operations at a high-energy, fast-paced automotive vehicle distribution compound. You’ll drive efficiency, quality, and safety across vehicle storage, inspection, maintenance, dispatch, and transportation. Lead a dynamic team, maintain top-tier operational standards, and ensure compliance with all safety regulations.

Job Details:

  • Location: Humber Ports (Killingholme)
  • Position: Compound Operations Manager  
  • Type: Permanent Position
  • Working Hours: Monday to Friday
  • Salary: £50,000 per annum.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Inbound & Outbound Operations: Oversee vehicle receipt, inspections, and accurate documentation. Manage unloading and staging, ensuring quality and damage protocols are followed. Collaborate with transport teams for seamless scheduling and documentation. Manage vehicle dispatch, ensuring timely delivery and accurate records. Address special delivery needs and plan for peak demand periods.

Compound Management:  Optimise compound layout for efficient vehicle flow and space use. Conduct inventory audits and ensure safety compliance.

Operational Oversight: Supervise the Compound team and manage staffing to meet demand. Align staffing strategies with business needs in collaboration with HR.

KPI and Inventory Management: Ensure vehicles meet delivery specifications and on-time targets. Monitor inventory accuracy and address performance gaps.

Health and Safety: Enforce safety standards and conduct risk assessments and training.

Team Collaboration: Promote teamwork and ensure alignment on targets through clear communication.

Customer and Stakeholder Engagement: Provide updates and address customer requests to meet service standards.

 

About You

Proven experience in logistics, vehicle distribution, or a similar operational role.

Strong leadership and people management skills, with experience leading large teams.

Excellent organisational, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations.

Experience with compound and quality audits, as well as compiling and reporting data related to all job elements.
