RMS recruitment is seeking a Team Leader on behalf our client who is a leading global automotive Supplier. Our client specialises in developing, producing, and supplying high-quality components and systems for engines, transmissions, and alternative drive technologies. As a Team Leader, you would play a crucial role in ensuring their production operations run smoothly, efficiently, and to the highest standards.

Job Details:

  • Location: Redcar
  • Position: Production Team Leader
  • Type: Permanent Contract
  • Working Hours: 37 Hours per week. Initially starting on a 7am-3pm shift. Following completion of training you will be on a Shift Rotation of 7am-3pm / 3pm-11pm. Overtime flexibility will be required as and when required.
  • Salary: £30k per annum

About the Role:

Working as a Team Leader you would play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the production team. You will be 1st line Supervisory management of employees within the designated production zones. The primary Duties & Responsibilities of the Team Leader will include:

  • Co-ordinating tasks within the shift to ensure work plans provided by MRP are completed in a timely manner to comply with KPIs. Escalate any issues/potential roadblocks and adjust the sequence of plans accordingly.
  • Co-ordinate shift changes in conjunction with the Manufacturing Supervisors.
  • Maintain shift-related information in shop-floor management
  • Be responsible for maintaining the SFM meeting point boards located within designated production zones and report results and implement necessary improvements.
  • Record and work through instances of waste and any potential improvements within production and the organisational structures.
  • Ensure team members are compliant with all workplace instructions and procedures.
  • Responsible for the instruction and training of employees in conjunction with the T&D department and the Manufacturing Supervisors.
  • Ensure and comply with all work-related regulations including Quality & Awareness and Health & Safety.
  • Update and maintain machines and personnel capacity requirements in SAP system.
  • Responsible for inventory accuracies within the zonal areas in line with MRP.
  • Undertake Audits
  • Ensure information on the Work Order/SAP system are aligned with material consumption (backflush process, etc.) and highlight any discrepancies to relevant personnel in a timely manner.
  • Escalate technical and quality related or tool specific problems to the relevant person immediately.

About You:

  • The ideal candidate will have previous experience in 1st line supervisory management with the ability to motivate and support team members effectively.
  • The Ideal candidate will be Confident, Driven, self-motivated and able to multi-task
  • The ideal candidate will have experience in a fast-paced deadline driven environment.
  • The ideal candidate will have previous experience of SAP transactions
  • The ideal candidate will have Strong MS Excel skills along with a good working knowledge of Word, Teams and Outlook.
