RMS is collaborating with a prestigious automotive client, and we are seeking several Vehicle Handling Operatives to join our dedicated team.   • Working Hours: 06.00am-2.15pm/ 14.15pm-00.30am

Flexibility is required as weekend work IS a requirement of the client as they manufacture vehicles 24/7, the shifts on a Saturday and Sunday are 6.00am to 6.00pm and staff predominantly work one of the days every other weekend. However, if we complete the daily volume early, we do send you home but must be available for the full shift.

About the role?

Working under the supervision and co-ordination of the Compound Manager and Compound Supervisor, you will be required to carry out all vehicle movements within the site correctly and as efficiently as possible.

Key responsibilities of the Role:

  • To carry out all vehicle movements from the plant & onsite to the required location safely & Effectively
  • To ensure all vehicles are located correctly within the quality standards & reported to the office accurately. To ensure the correct vehicles are pilled for loads, ready to be despatched from site.
  • To comply with the correct parking procedures and site speed limits.
  • To carry out Quality checks on all vehicles arriving and being despatched for site.
  • To carry out storage and maintenance checks
  • To complete all relevant paperwork and report any vehicles with damage, storage issues or non-runners to the compound Team Leaders.
  • To ensure health & safety procedures are followed at all times.
  • Undertake other duties as directed commensurate with the level of the job function.

The primary function of this role operates outdoors in a large automotive compound facility. Its associated duties are conducted in varying weather conditions throughout the year (PPE is provided to support such tasks). As you will be expected to store and transport vehicles in an outdoor logistics facility which also involves moderate amounts of general walking throughout the working day.

About you?

  • To be successful, you must be over 25 years old, possess a valid driver’s license with fewer than 6 penalty points, and have no DR10 offenses for insurance purposes.
  • To succeed in this role, candidates must be flexible to work BOTH the specified shift times above.
  • To succeed in this role, you will need to pass an onsite drivers’ assessment and a pre-employment drug & alcohol test prior to starting.
  • The ideal candidate will be confident in their driving and have experience with automatic and manual vehicles.
  • The ideal candidate will have a level headed approach. This is required when driving vehicles to ensure the safety of yourself & your colleagues.
  • The ideal candidate will have basic understanding of health and safety and cooperate with managers to comply with Health & Safety regulations.
