RMS Recruitment is actively seeking an experienced, dynamic, and highly skilled Warehouse Operations Manager to join a leading Transport & Logistics company based in County Durham. • Salary: £60,000 per annum

About the Role:

As a Warehouse Operations Manager, you will oversee and drive all aspects of the company’s warehousing operations, ensuring they are safe, efficient, and profitable. Your leadership will play a critical role in upholding the highest standards of service, safety, and operational excellence. You will be responsible for managing four warehouses, overseeing up to 30 customer supply chains, and maintaining a key customer-facing open book contract, all while reporting directly to the Managing Director (MD).

• Ensuring all warehousing operations adhere to legal standards and established company safety protocols.
• Achieving financial targets as outlined in the annual business plan, with a focus on maximising profitability across all sites.
• Developing and implementing a formal operational plan that delivers best-in-class service, including optimal stock management and space utilisation.
• Continuously reviewing and improving warehouse capacity to enhance operational efficiency.
• Collaborating with senior management and other divisions to identify and exploit opportunities for integrated, one-stop logistics services.
• Overseeing a key customer-facing open book contract and maintaining strong relationships with clients.
• Managing mixed contract formats including semi-open book and open book.
• Promoting and enforcing safety standards, ensuring full compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation.
• Working closely with the Business Development and Commercial Managers to assess and validate new business opportunities and client inquiries.

About You:

• Proven experience in warehouse operations management, preferably within a logistics or supply chain environment.
• Strong leadership abilities, with a track record of managing large teams and multiple facilities.
• A results-driven approach with a focus on achieving operational efficiency and financial goals.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with clients and stakeholders.
• Comprehensive knowledge of health and safety regulations and compliance.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive mindset to identify areas for continuous improvement.
